Hayfields Reservations

The Venerable Hayfields Reservation in Frumoasa (Suceava)

 Location : The reservation is situated in the commune of Moara, 4 km West from the bifurcation of the highway Suceava – Falticeni, in the commune of Scheia, Sf.Ilie village. The surface of the reservation is around 9,50 ha.

The Venerable Hayfields Reservation in Calafindesti (R. Siret)

 Location : The reservation is 6 km away from the town of Siret , towards Suceava, near the national highway (DN2).
 The interest in this reservation is due to a very rare ice relic in the flora of our country, that is the rabbit's cabbage (Ligularia glauca). The reservation spreads on around 17,30 ha.

The Venerable Hayfields in Ponoare (Suceava)

 Location : The reservation is situated 9 km South from the municipality of Suceava , across the village of Cumparatura (the commune of Bosanci), 1 km away from the European highway (E85) which leads to Falticeni, being made up of a hayfield on Strambu Hill. The surface of the reservation is about 24,50 ha.  

The Mountain Hayfields Todirescu (Campulung )

 Location : The access to the reservation is made available either by the connecting path which starts in Slatioara village and heads for the Rarau chalet, or by the Padina road, in the southern part of the Slatioara forest, easy of access, or from the Rarau chalet, on a road of ridge which leads to Slatioara.
The surface of the reservation is of around 44,30 ha.
 

Geological Reservations :

The Piatra Tibaului Geological Reservation (Dorna) is situated at the confluence of the stream Tibau with Bistrita Aurie, on the territory of the commune Carlibaba and represents an interesting massif of fossilised limestone, 70 m high. This impressive cliff is attractive through its massivity and represents the eastern termination of the Carpathian flysch.
The surface of the reservation is about 20,30 ha.

The Piatra Pinului and Piatra Soimului Geological Reservation (Campulung)

 The geological reservation Piatra Pinului represents an extremely important ecosystem from a paleontologically viewpoint, containing numerous rests of fossilised fish which prove the existence of a specific fauna : fish, corals, shells, etc. We cannot but mention as unique of its kind the fact that the sub-shrub species – the black bilberry – here grows at its lowest altitude in Bucovina (600 m ).
Piatra Soimului (The Hawk's Stone), situated a few hundred metres upstream from Piatra Pinului, is visited for the picturesque of the cliffs in the forest.
The surface of the reservation is about 0,50 ha.

The Cheia Lucavei Rezervatia (Campulung)

 It is situated at the mouth of the stream Lucava, next to the Hayfields in Lucina, on the territory of the commune of Moldova - Sulita. Particularly impressive is the beauty of the limestone cliffs which shelter the two monuments of nature : the bear's grape and the edelweiss. In addition to that, there's also the stream with sulphur drinking water – stream which runs near the road.
The surface of the reservation is about 24,30 ha.

The Resevation Moment of triassic limestone Paraul Cailor (Campulung)

 The triassic moments are geological formations very old and important through the different fish species, shells and ammonites of sea origin engraved in the cliffs that bear testimony of techtonic movements and of the life in the warm oceans of yore.
The Clipa (Moment) Reservation Clipa lies within the commune of Fundu Moldovei. The surface of the reservation is of about 0,10 ha.

The Cheia Moara Dracului Reservation (The Devil's Mill) (Campulung)

 Situated on the superior course of the Valea Caselor stream, right tributary stream of the Moldova river, the reservation is 7 km away from the Campulung Moldovenesc- East station, on the northern slope of the Rarau massif. The surface of the reservation is of around 1,30 ha.

Mixed Reservations

The "12 Apostles " Reservation (Dorna)

 Location : the ridge that forms the watershed between the bassins of the streams Neagra Sarului and Poiana Negri and runs down from Calimani over the peaks of Tamau and The Red Stones towards the tops Lucaciu and the town of Vatra Dornei shelters a lot of figuri zoomorphic and anthropomorphic figures, "sculptured " by bad weather in the long run, made uo of cemented lava fragments.
 The rock group which forms the reservation is the most important and comprises fantastic "sculptures", such as the figure of a beared old man, towards the North, an old man towards the South, a bowed-headed bear, a woman that reminds of the silhouette of the Pharaoh Nefertiti, etc..

The Pietrele Doamnei Reservation (The Lady's Stones) - Rarau (Campulung)

 Location : The Rarau Massif shelters in the northern part one of the most interesting geological forms in the Oriental Carpathians chain, known as Pietrele Doamnei (The Lady's Stones). The accesss in the area is possible either from the town of Campulung Moldovenesc , or through the localities Pojorata, Mestecanis, Slatioara or Chiril.

The Cheile Zugrenilor Reservation (Dorna)

 Location : It is situated 20 km downstream from Vatra Dornei town, on the Bistrita river, 740 m high from the surface of the water, spreading on the vertical up to the Pietrosul Bistritei peak.
 The area is extremely picturesque through the wilderness of the cliffs. The flora of the reservation is specific to the cliffs, like the edelweiss (Leontopodium alporum) in the lowest natural resort in Moldavia.
